How does Teams Phone work technically?
Teams Phone connects to PSTN via one of three methods: Microsoft Calling Plans, Operator Connect (like Momentum) or Direct Routing with your own SBC infrastructure. -
What are the licensing requirements?
A Teams Phone license + Phone System add-on + a calling method (Calling Plan, Operator Connect or Direct Routing). Momentum advises on the right mix. -
Can I keep existing numbers?
Yes - existing numbers can be migrated or ported, via either Operator Connect or Direct Routing. International numbers are also supported. -
Is special hardware needed?
No. Teams Phone works on all devices that support Teams - desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Optionally there are Teams-certified IP phones. -
Is Teams Phone secure?
Yes - enterprise-grade security, end-to-end encryption via Microsoft, GDPR compliant and suitable for HIPAA and sector-specific compliance requirements.
